Buongiorno Venezia!

Venice is one of the cities that I encounter in Hollywood movies quite often: couple of 007 movies including Casino Royal, the Tourist, and Italian Job! I have been to Venice for the second time now and it probably is one of the most stunningly beautiful cities I've been to.

Being surrounded by water, and that's quite literally, visiting Venice in gorging summer may not be the greatest idea. You will still enjoy it and its beauty & the romance never goes away, but one may be drained from the heat and the humidity more easily. I remember my last visit in August of 2011 somewhat close to my above description. This time was middle of October for Canadian thanksgiving week. It was just perfect! Now please join me in my photo journal for my trip to Venezia!

Vaporetto Ride via Canal Grande (from S. Zaccaria to St. Lucia)
It had rained cats and dogs just the night before this day - thank goodness for the blue sky! We left from San Zaccaria station (next to San Marco), passed Ponte Rialto, and sailed all the way up to St. Lucia train station. It is obviously the logical thing but I was amused to see the ship spoke instead of a steering wheel. Excuse my finger which keeps on getting in the photo - it's all because I was overly excited and wasn't paying attention what was inside my screen. I couldn't take my eyes off of the scenery!

San Marco
Shame I do not have enough photos of this beautiful Campo!

Murano, the Glass Island
Murano is an island right next to Venezia. It's taken maybe 10 minutes from main island via vaporetto. I read somewhere that these glassmaking craftsmen had to move to Murano to avoid any fire being caught on the wooden buildings. Their glass-blowing show is definitely worth the 10 and they're blow your mind away too!

Some evening shots from Ponte Rialto

Everywhere else! Small street corners - which are all beautiful anyway!

Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute

Hotel (Casa Nicolo Priuli)
Our hotel was located conveniently 5 minutes walk from S. Zaccaria Vaporetto Station. The room was filled with beautiful/old Italian furniture and was maintained very well. The breakfast area was gorgeous - made me feel like I was having a high tea at Fairmont Hotel!

Feel free to ask if you have any questions from my recent trip (while my memory is still fresh!). I am definitely going back another time to this lovely city! Safe travels everyone! xx
